No games will be played in the St George district on the weekend of the 12-13 July (i.e. the middle weekend of the school holidays). The competition resumes the weekend 19-20 July, week 14.
However, there will one Penshurst RSL team playing this Sunday, 13 July, as they compete in the Cronulla competition. As the only Penshurst RSL team playing this week, please make the effort to get to Sutherland Oval on Sunday to support our u21s as they endeavour to push their way further up the competition table.

Week 14
The draw for week 14 of the St George competition has been published and features most of our Mini and Mod teams at H.V. Evatt Park on the Saturday, the only exception being the under 9s.
Parental help is required on the BBQ and in the canteen at Evatt in the hour preceding your child's game. Your assistance is appreciated and essential as these are important fund raisers for the club and therefore, your child.
On Sunday, all of our International teams are on the road, with the under 13s having the Bye.
NB: Please note the correction to the u15s game details.

u7s' Big Day Out - on the Road South |
|
Wednesday, 02 July 2008 |
|
On Sunday 28th June, 9 little ambassadors from Penshurst RSL rugby league, parents, support staff and supporters headed to Corrimal to participate in the Tommy Martin Memorial knockout.
There were 30 teams participating and our boys made it to the semi final, but were unfortunately defeated by Kiama by only a converted try.
Sadly for the boys they missed out on playing in the final for a trophy, but “copped it on the chin” and came home with everybody very PROUD of them. They played with great spirit, courage and sportsmanship and you can look forward to a more detailed wrap of the day in the next Penshurst RSL footy newsletter. |

Sports' Dinner - A Great Success !! |
|
Tuesday, 01 July 2008 |
|
On behalf of Penshurst RSL Junior Rugby League, I would like to thank everyone who supported our Sportsman’s Night on Saturday 28th June 2008.
I am sure that all those who attend had a fabulous time. A special thank you must go to our 3 guest speakers – Darren Senter, John Peard and Ivan Henjak. Our MC for the evening, Glen Munsie, did a fantastic job and for this we must thank him.
Although not sure of the final figure, we managed to raise funds for the club which far exceeded our expectations.
A special thank you must also go to Melissa Homann for the effort put into organizing such a successful evening – Well done and thank you, Melissa!
Darryn Springett,
President |
