u11 Gold - Grand Finalists 2011

The big surprise package in 2011 for Penshurst RSL was our u11 Golds, who made the remarkable journey from the bottom half of the table to the Grand Final.
Coming from 6th position in mid-season, the u11 Golds qualified for the finals as the 4th team in. They then won hard fought finals against Earlwood Saints and club-mates, the u11 Greens, to qualify for the Big Game.
Their amazing run finished in the Grand Final, going down to Hurstville United White 6-42. A tight start to the game saw our boys going try for try early on, however, the size and power of their much bigger opponents eventually wore down the lads in green and gold.
Congratulations to the boys and Kevin Hicks and his staff on a tremendous season. You gave your supporters a great ride and everyone looks forward to seeing you the field next season.
