Both teams will be playing early on Saturday morning at Oki Jubilee Oval, Kogarah and are competing in their first Grand Final. The u9 Greens are keen to defend their undefeated status against the tough defence of Kingsgrove Colts whereas the u10s are looking to again overcome their underdog status, this time against Earlwood Saints.

To all Green and Gold supporters, get along to Oki Jubilee and show our young competitors that we are all behind them. Remember to wear your green and gold and to bring your loudest voices.

Under 10s in Grand Final

on .

Under 10s into the Grand FinalAnd there still are two !!! Our under 10s have won a stirring Final to qualify for the Grand Final. They will join the under 9 Greens on Grand Final day next Saturday at Oki Jubilee Oval Kogarah - it will be the first Grand Final for both teams.

In a game of see-sawing scorelines, Penshurst RSL trailed early against their much bigger opponents, Hurstville United, before fighting back to lead at half-time 15-10. Hurstville were able to square the score at 15-15 in a tight and tense second half. It was with only a minute remaining on the clock that Christopher Rigopoluos sliced through the defence and scored in the left hand corner to snatch victory for the Rissoles, 18-15.

Check the website during the week for confirmation of the Grand Final schedule - at the moment, the 9s are tentatively scheduled to play at 9am and and the 10s at 10am. The 9s will be playing Kingsgrove Colts and the 10s will play Earlwood Saints.

Finals Week Two Results

on .

And then there were 2 !! In a weekend of gripping finals footy, all five Penshurst RSL teams showed their true colours, each team fighting desperately to advance further into the finals series. By the end of the weekend, 1 team had progressed to the Grand Final, 1 team stayed alive to make the Final and 3 teams were eliminated in tense contests.

Despite courageous efforts from the under 11s, under 12s and under 18s, each team was eliminated in a very tight game that was in doubt until the final whistle.

The 11s fought bravely against a much bigger opponent before losing 18-27 to Hurstville United. After leading the defending premiers at half-time, the 12s desperately defended their lead before going down 12-16 to Renown United. And the 18s took their much more fancied opponents, Kingsgrove Colts, into extra time (we had scored 3 tries to 2 in the 14-14 full time score) before losing 14-18.

Congratulations to all 3 teams and your coaching staff for tremendous seasons in which you did yourselves and the club proud.

Meanwhile, the under 9 Greens maintained their unbeaten record in their first year of competitive football with a hard fought 19-10 win over Kingsgrove Colts to progress to the Grand Final. The under 10s defeated Arncliffe Scots 28-16 to push their way into the top 3. They will contest the Final next week in a bid to qualify for their first Grand Final.

The prize for best dressed couple went to Glen & Leonie Dufty, while the best hairdo, in a controversial decision, went to our President, Ken Harris! Again thanks to all of those who helped and attended as all funds raised from our events go back to our boys and running the club.
