The u16s kick-off at 6.15pm, followed by the u18s at 7.40pm. Please get along to support our boys, esp. the u18s who are playing an elimination game. Listed below are the known Penshurst RSL games for this week.

Week 17 Fixtures - 2006

on .

In week 17, most of our competitive teams start their finals campaign. The exceptions are the u9 Golds (1 game) and the u19s (2 games) who still have competition games to play before their finals start.
On Sunday, we have 5 teams playing at Hurstville Oval, of which 3 are in Elimination finals. Please help make it a large Green & Gold presence by making your way to Hurstville Oval to cheer on our mighty Mods.
On Sunday, if you wish to support our finalists in the International grades, you have a bit of travelling to do, between Cahill Park at 9.30am (u16s), Hurstville Oval at 12.15pm (u18s) and Blackmore Oval at 3.10pm (u14s). The u19s play at midday at Erskineville and, as Minor Premiers, the u13s have the week off.
Please, come and support our boys in the Green and Gold !!!

2006 - A Season of Success

on .

The loss of the final two weekends of games (due to ground closures) has brought an unusual and premature end to the competition rounds for 2006. Despite this disappointment, it is worth reflecting on Penshurst RSL's season to date.
Our Mini teams have finished their season with only the under 7s to play one more game next weekend. As the Minis' season finished prematurely, the club held a sausage sizzle last Saturday to thank the players, team staff and families for being part of the club for 2006. In beautiful sunshine at a dry Evatt park, everyone enjoyed the camaraderie of the club. Congratulations and thank you for the enjoyment and entertainment that you bring to all involved with the Minis in 2006.
11 out of 11 Finalists
Of the eleven teams that played in competitive grades this season, all eleven have qualified for the finals. This is a tremendous achievement across the entire club, from all involved - coaches, team staff and, most importantly, the players. Of the 11 finalists, we will have 6 teams competing in elimination finals this weekend. Please to be sure to support our boys in numbers and with enthusiasm this weekend.
Runners Up - Junior Club Championship
In our best result for a number of years, Penshurst RSL has finished 2nd in the Junior Club Championship. A fantastic effort again from all of our players, coaches and team staff. Congratulations and well done to everyone !! Our seniors also fared well, and will finish in 4th position (if the under 19s' points are counted from the Souths comp).
Congratulations also to Kingsgrove Colts on winning both the Junior and Senior Club Championships - a very impressive efforts.

Week 16 Results 2006

on .

As previously reported, due to Hurstville council's ground closures, no games of rugby league were played in the St George district in week 15. Despite other codes being allowed to use grounds, including Evatt Park, in the Hurstville area on the weekend, no games of rugby league were allowed.
The only Penshurst RSL team able to play was our under 19s who recorded an important win over Coogee-Randwick Wombats on Sunday at Coogee Oval. In a tightly fought contest, the Green & Golds came from 6-16 down at half-time to claim a 24-20 victory.

Week 16 Games CANCELLED

on .

Unfortunately, all games for week 16 in the St George and Balmain districts have been CANCELLED due to ground closures, i.e. weekend 29th-30th July.

Minis Sausage Sizzle
For the Mini teams, to help offset the disappointment of the non-end to the season, the club would like to invite all players, team staff and families from the Mini teams (u6 Golds, u6 Greens, u7s and u8s) to a sausage sizzle at the Evatt Park canteen, tomorrow Saturday, from 11am to 1pm.

Week 16 Fixtures 2006

on .

Due to a wide range of factors, the washed-out games from last week (Week 15) have been abandoned. This coming weekend (Week 16) has been planned for a number of weeks by the junior league and a large number of activities have been organised around it.
On Saturday, all of our Mini and Mod teams are on the road, evenly split between Scarborough, Riverwood and Renown Parks. On Sunday, our International teams are at home at Evatt Park. Advice on the under 19s' game has not yet been received.
Week 16 is the final weekend of competition games in most grades and the final game of the season for our Mini teams - u6 Golds, u6 Greens, u7s and u8s. If you can make it to any of the Mini games, please do so and give them a big cheer. There is always a body of opinion that rates these grades as the most entertaining to watch.
