It's on again...Penshurst RSL Rugby League's Trivia Night !!!

Put together a table with your family, friends, team and/or work mates. Or just come along and join a table on the night at one of our most entertaining nights of the year. As usual, it will be held in the auditorium at Penshurst RSL on Saturday May 12th starting at 7:00pm.

There will be great prizes throughout the night, six rounds of trivia plus a phantom horse race, spot prizes and a large raffle. This is the major fundraiser for the club and is always a lot of fun. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.

PS: If you know anyone who has any prizes they would like to donate for the night contact our Social Secretary, Debbie Moodie or a committee member.

Get well soon, JC

Penshurst RSL rugby league wishes long term player and clubman John Callaghan a speedy and successful recovery from his recent operation. John was diagnosed with a brain haematoma and underwent emergency surgery early last Saturday morning. It is understood that the surgery was successful and that, at this stage, John's long-term prognosis is positive. He does face a long period of recovery.

JC, everyone at Penshurst RSL rugby league is hoping and praying for your successful recovery. Get well soon, mate. To his family, parents Trish and Pat, and sisters Bridget and Elissa, all of our thoughts are with you.

Draw - Week 05.2007 (04-06 May)

on .

The draw for week 05 sees all Penshurst RSL teams on the road. The biggest grouping of Penshurst RSL teams is on Saturday at Scarborough Park where 6 Mini and Mod teams will be playing. The weekend starts with 2 Penshurst RSL teams featuring on Friday night - our under 15s and our under 21s (as usual).

Please endeavour to travel to support our teams no matter how far from home they may be.

Results - Week 04.2007

on .

Week 04 was opened on Friday night by our under 21s who played one of the competition favourites, Gymea Gorllias. After conceding an early 0-18 lead, our boys fought back strongly, posting 3 of the 4 tries scored in the remainder of the game.

On Saturday, a full house at Evatt Park in cloudy, drizzly conditions, witnessed another great day of Mini and Mod football. Most of our teams were successful but all of them played strongly and with enthusiasm. Well done, boys.

On Sunday, another full day at Evatt saw most of our international teams at home for the first time this season. The 14s battled galliantly against a bigger, faster opponent, the 15s lost a tight thriller and both the 17s and the 19s recorded strong victories - remarkably, by the same scoreline.

ANZAC Day 2007 at Penshurst RSL

on .

Penshurst RSL commemorated ANZAC Day 2007 last Sunday, 22nd March, 2007. A dedication was performed at the front of the club, followed by a march along the length of Penshurst Street.

In a show of respect to our fallen, Penshurst RSL Rugby League was represented by about 30 Mini and Mod footballers. Our contingent was led in the parade by Syd White, President of Penshurst RSL, and club director, Graeme Hemopo, who is also a Life Member of the football club.

Check the Gallery for a selection of photos of our representatives at the 2007 March.

Draw - Week 04.2007 (30 Apr-02 May)

on .

A double header at HV Evatt Park is the feature of the week 04 draw. Apart from the under 9s,  under 10 Greens (both at Bexley) and the under 21s (Friday night at Redmond), all Penshurst RSL teams are at home this weekend. The Minis and Mods play on the Saturday and on Sunday we welcome our International teams to Evatt for the first time this season.

NB: It is a big weekend at Evatt. Help is needed setting up and cleaning up the park at the start and end of both days - from all teams !!!

It is also important that all teams contribute to the effort in the canteen and on the BBQ in the hour before your game. PLEASE give your assistance as this is a major fund raiser for YOUR child and his/her team.
