Penshurst RSL's u19s and u21s opened week 08, playing locally on Friday night. After leading 16-0 late in the first half, the u19s put the cue (& their enthusiasm) in the rack to struggle to a 20-14 victory. At the same time not far away, the u21s were involved in a very tight battle with one of the undefeated competition leaders. Down 10-12 with only minutes remaining, we were held up over the line in a vain push for victory.

On Saturday at HV Evatt Park, the u6 Gold played with enthusiasm, the u9s came from behind to grab a late win over the competition leaders, the u10 Gold recorded another strong win, the u10 Green defended strongly throughout but just failed to cross the stripe and the u11 Green won comfortably. Meanwhile, at Cahill Park, both the u6 Greens and the u7s posted solid wins, the u8s went down narrowly, the u11 Gold won a nail-biter and the u12s continued their winning ways.

On Sunday, the u14s recorded their first victory of the season (congratulations boys, now we'll have to stop calling Paul 'Chris Anderson'), the u15s finally succumbed in the end after a tight battle and the u17s lost a closely fought contest with the undefeated competition leaders.

On Saturday, we have 5 Mini and Mod teams playing at Cahill Park, while the other 5 play at home - HV Evatt Park. On Sunday, the u14s, u15s and u17s all play in the Balmain district - venues and times have now been updated.

Results - Week 07.2007

on .

Results in week 07 for Penshurst RSL teams were a mixed bag - some good, even big wins and some tough losses. The weekend started with a deferred game for our under 21s when the ground was disappointingly closed due to rain early Friday.

But the action started early and was bright on Saturday morning as our Mini teams participated in the St George Mini Gala day. No results were recorded, but our kids played well, enjoyed themselves and came away with a smart junior league rash shirt.

Meanwhile, at Evatt Park, the u9s won a nail-biter right at the death, the u10 Greens played valiantly against a stronger opponent before succumbing late in the game, the u10 Golds recorded a strong victory, the u11 Golds were also valiant in defeat, the u11 Greens were outsized by much bigger opponents and the u12s posted an outsized win.

On Sunday, while the u14s had the Bye and u17s won on forfeit, the u15s posted their second consecutive victory and the u19s convincingly won their top-of-the-table clash.

under 21s Deferred - Peakhurst Park CLOSED

on .

As Peakhurst Park has been closed for play tonight due to the wet weather, the games scheduled to be played there tonight have been deferred until further notice. This includes our under 21s game against Renown United.

Please watch this space for an update about the rescheduling of the game, which hopefully may be later in the weekend.
