On the opening week of football, it was a mixed weekend for the Green and Golds. In the Minis both our under 6 sides went close in their first games of the season. The under 7s made a strong start to their season while our under 8s put up a brave effort against much larger opponents.

In the Mod competitions, our u9s had the bye, the u10 Greens played well against last years Grand Finalists and our u10 Golds led for most of the game only to let in 2 late tries which proved to be the difference. In the u11s Grand Final rematch our Greens suffered a rare defeat at the hands of Kogarah Cougars. We are sure this will make them more determined than ever and expect them to bounce back strongly. The u11 Golds kicked off their season with a handy win over Kingsgrove Colts Red while our u12s also scored a comfortable win in their first game under their new coach.

On Sunday, our u14s travelled to Dundas to play Five Dock. Although soundly beaten, our boys put up a courageous effort against a very strong opposition side.
