On Sunday April 23, a group of 16 children from Penshurst RSL Football Club, accompanied by Mr Graeme Hemopo took part in the annual ANZAC march and wreath laying ceremony at Penshurst RSL. The boys were representing the Penshurst RSL Youth Club. They displayed respect and dignity during the service and were a credit to their club and families. A number of people present commented on the boys’ manner and their presence at the service to remember those who had made the supreme sacrifice for our country. Lest we forget. Photos from this years event can be seen here, courtesy of the Kennedy family. |

It is with great sadness that we report the sudden loss of Frances O'Sullivan, a long time and highly respected member of the Penshurst RSL Rugby League community. Fran passed away suddenly last Sunday evening, 14th May.
Fran was a well loved and popular member of the O'Sullivan and Mannering families, both prominent Penshurst RSL families. She was the wife of Penshurst RSL icon Kevin, who played first grade for St George in the 70s, and the mother of Michael and Anthony, both Penshurst RSL juniors. She was also the much loved aunt of two other Penshurst RSL juniors, Jeff and Peter Mannering. Michael and Jeff both represented St George in the lower grades and Peter is the current coach of Penshurst RSL's under 18s team.
A strong and enthusiastic supporter of Penshurst RSL Rugby League, Fran was a generous and caring person who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Penshurst RSL Rugby League wishes to express its deepest sympathies to Kevin, Michael and Anthony. Our thoughts are with you and your extended family throughout this difficult time.
Fran's funeral service was held Friday, 19th May, at St Declan's, Penshurst and was followed by a cremation service at Woronora Crematorium, Sutherland. |
